About Sean

Sean Brennan

“Ethnically diverse” is today’s politically correct way of characterizing Chicago’s rough and tough west side neighborhoods following WWII. It was here in 1951 that Sean (number 10 of 11 children) was born to Teresa (Bridie) a beautiful Gaelic speaking Irish immigrant, and Thomas (Pops) Brennan, an Irish American businessman. In 1957 Pops transports the 13 member clan to “Pleasantville” Oak Park and into Cloonmore, a tattered Victorian manse named after Bridie’s home in Ireland.

It was here that Sean “came of age” and began hoarding family stories like a squirrel preparing for winter. You see, even during his 30 year career on the Chicago Board of Trade he always knew in his heart he was a born story teller.

The Altar Boy is his first novel but his second memoir is already in the works.
